Imperial Lantern Gazebo Built to Fit the Space

This Imperial Lantern Gazebo was designed around the customer’s existing outbuildings, so getting the proportions right was key. A custom front overhang was added to sit comfortably within the space and ensure everything worked together visually and practically, rather than feeling like an add-on.

Built at 3.1m x 4.7m (external post dimensions), this structure makes a real statement without overwhelming the garden. We used our upgraded 200mm posts, and an upgraded 8x3 roof frame to create a seriously solid structure, all while keeping the centre open with no central post. Using a five-post layout allowed us to maintain strength and stability while preserving usable space inside the gazebo.

The roof is finished with full 20mm tongue and groove boarding and grey shingles, designed to run neatly into the existing guttering for a clean, practical finish. Curved braces were added for both strength and detail, giving the gazebo the strong, traditional look that defines our Imperial range.

To one side, the gazebo was finished with a combination of full height tongue and groove panelling, half height panels and a glazed upper section using 4mm acrylic. This provides shelter and privacy where needed, while still allowing light to filter through and keeping the space open and usable throughout the day.

As with all our builds, every fixing was included, the structure was prepared carefully in our workshop, and the design was tailored to how the customer wanted to use the space. It’s a great example of how our gazebos can be adapted to work around existing buildings while still delivering a strong, well-balanced outdoor structure built to last.
